Scrutton Bland Case Study

The latest success story for T-Tech and Ladybird Communications involved working with Scrutton Bland to embed a state of the art video communications system in their regional offices in East Anglia.

Who are Scrutton Bland?

Scrutton Bland are a specialist accountancy and insurance brokerage with over one hundred years’ experience in delivering financial advice to businesses and individuals. Based in East Anglia, they employ almost 200 staff who operate from four regional sites in Cambridge, Colchester, Diss and Ipswich.

The Challenge

As was the case with most UK businesses, the Covid-19 pandemic required all Scrutton Bland’s offices to close and their staff moved to working from home. As lockdowns eased in 2021 employees embraced a hybrid way of working, allowing them to meet and interact with clients through online meeting platforms, as well as in person in the offices.

It was quickly apparent that the video meeting facilities at their Colchester and Ipswich sites were not adequate, especially where several staff across multiple locations were required to participate. A modern video system was needed which could link people up in a way that avoided the conventional ‘peering into a laptop’ mode of behaviour, and where complex visual information such as spreadsheets and presentations could be quickly shared. Scrutton Bland also asked for a system that was easy to set up and manage, and which integrated into their existing workstreams.

The Solution

Ladybird Communications and T-Tech teams worked with Scrutton Bland to understand their goals and the pain points they had with their current technology. Following a survey of their sites, we proposed the Yealink MVC640 Microsoft Teams Rooms solution. This is a bundled system, which brings the various elements of multi-site video communications together to interact, connect, and collaborate with users seamlessly and intelligently.

Ipswich site

Two meeting rooms in Scrutton Bland’s Ipswich office were converted to MS Teams rooms. Both rooms were fitted out with 55” TVs, Yealink MVC640 and additional microphones were installed in the larger meeting room

Colchester site

Six meeting rooms in total were converted to MS Teams Meeting Rooms. Two contained the full Yealink MVC640 system with the four other smaller rooms linking into it.

The Results
